Nobody can say the
the Room 84 Website isn't aware of political issues and we have
taken this cutting - just in case it is needed again:
- In table 2491 - trains 103 (Mon & Fri only ) and 104 (Wed & Sun only) are, in fact, the Taurus Express to/from Haydarpassa which is only three days away. Rolling stock was 1st and 2nd Turkish Sleeping Cars and 1st and 2nd Seating Coaches. The inward train from Turkey leaves the frontier station of El Yaroubieh (frontier with Syria) at 16.30 and the outbound service arrives at 11.50. Table 2492 is interesting as it is believed that Turkish State Railways may well put in a bid to run the northern section beyond Kirkuk - we wait to see.... Trains in table 2493 are presently composed of Iraqi rolling stock. An new tourist attraction is the excursion from Hilla to Babylon (by the river of...) with commentary by Boney-M. |
